The Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bataan in a special session on Saturday afternoon declared a state of calamity in the province. Bataan Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III announced through his Facebook page late Saturday afternoon that the province suffered damage in agricultural crops, infrastructures, and properties worth P22,382,052.
He said mostly affected are the towns of Dinalupihan, Morong, Bagac, Samal and Limay. The provincial risk reduction and management council reported that 639 families with 2,357 individuals were evacuated to public schools and evacuation centers. Garcia said with the declaration of state of calamity, the local government can fast track the restoration of damaged infrastructures, roads and other concerns.
